FINANCE & GENERAL PURPOSES COMMITTEE
Chairman: Cllr Terry Davies
Vice Chairman: Cllr Mrs Ann Yates
The Committee meets approximately every 6 weeks at 7pm on Fridays and its remit includes the following:
- To be responsible for all aspects of the financial administration of the Council including: accounts, audit, and compliance with financial regulations.
- To advise the Council on the budget proposals of all Committees and the level of Precept to be levied each year
- To be responsible for authorising expenditure on land, buildings and memorials
- To be responsible for grants to voluntary bodies
- To be responsible for legal and constitutional matters
- To advise the Council on its Corporate Polices and Strategies
- To advise on staff and employment matters
- To undertake within the overall policies and approved budgets of the Council the following:
- Determination of applications for grant aid
- Determination of any fees and charges for services provided by the Council
- Determination of subscriptions to be paid by the Council
- All matters relating to the preparation of accounts and the implementation of appropriate procedures
- Maintenance and development of IT facilities for the Council
- To deal with any matters of a general purposes nature that do not fall under other Committees.
- To receive reports from Finance & General Purposes Sub Committees.
