We are very pleased to announce that Llandudno achieved a Silver Gilt Award in 2009 in the prestigious Wales in Bloom Awards and came first in the Town Category.  Councillors attended a special award ceremony in Tenby to receive the accolade of category winner (town) on behalf of the Town Council.  The Mayor paid tribute to the hard work of the Bloom Committee and Conwy County Borough Council and to the individuals and groups in our community for the many ways in which they support the competition.

To make the town centre come alive with a blaze of colour, Llandudno Town Council has co-ordinated the purchase of hundreds of hanging baskets for retailers, hoteliers and private residents which are carefully prepared for the customer and delivered to the door.

The Town Council also organises the annual Llandudno in Bloom competition.  Entrants are judged in 12 categories, including categories for hotels and guesthouses, shops, schools and private residences. The winners were presented with their certificates and trophies at an award ceremony held on Thursday 10th September 2009.  Chairman of the Llandudno in Bloom Sub-Committee, Cllr Jack Finch congratulated all the participants in this year's competition for the efforts they had made, not just the winners, which had helped contribute to our success in the Wales in Bloom awards.
