Llandudno Town Council

Overview:

Llandudno Town Council is in its 33rd year of existence, having been inaugurated following the local government reorganisation of 1974 and comprises 30 Councillors spread between five ward areas (Penrhyn, Craig y Don, Tudno, Mostyn and Gogarth). This equates to representation of approximately 20,500 residents.

Llandudno Town Council's standing Committees meet on Friday evenings starting at 7pm. Committees meet approximately every six weeks, with the cycle of meetings taking place (Plans, Community Services and Tourism, Finance & General Purposes), to lead up to report to the Council. A full cycle of meetings is established and published at the beginning of the municipal year in May.

The Council oversees the various functions listed below, and the Clerk with help of an Assistant is expected to accept full managerial control of these, working within tight deadlines, whilst liaising with the various Committee Chairman and reporting appropriately to each Committee. Sub-Committees are often scheduled in the daytime as far as possible, although these will sometimes necessarily encroach in to the early evening.
