Trusts:
Llandudno Town Council is involved with a number of Charitable Trusts established for the benefit of the townspeople. The Town Clerk is expected to act as clerk each of the trusts. If you would like further details or to make an application to any of the trusts - please contact the clerk.
Charity of Lewis Owen:
This Charity is
divided into four district shares, of which Llandudno is concerned
with those applicable to the Parishes of Llandudno, Llangwstenin and
Llanrhos. Lewis Owen was a 17th century courtier who left propertyin trust for the benefit of needy residents.
Millenium Young
Persons Fund:
A fund especially set up by the Council in 2000
to support educational overseas visits by young people (over 18 years).
Essentially this Trust operates
the
Charity of Edward William Johnson:
ThisCharity was established in 1904 and was used to provide children's
Johnson Tea which was an annual event at Payne's Cafe Royale untilthe mid 1960's. After being dormant for some years, the Town Councilarranged with the Charity Commissioners for a new scheme to regulate
the Trust. It is now used to relieve hardship amongst local schoolchildren up to the age of 13 under certain conditions.

The Samuel Chantrey Trust
& Llandudno Convalescent Home Trust.
These Charities areunder the title of the Llandudno Relief in Need Charity. TheCharity provides limited help to the elderly.
Penrhynside Recreation Ground Charity:
This charity is concerned with the
maintenance of the play area at Penrhyn Hill, and the management of
the Village Green at Penrhynside. They do not allocate money for the
relief of distress, etc.
