Miss Alice 2010 - 2011
On Saturday May 22nd 2010, Miss Erin Powell was chosen as Miss Alice for the year 2010-11 from 13 entrants. Five judges presided over this year's competition and scored the girls according to their presentations, appearance on the day and responses to questions about the 'Alice in Wonderland' book. All entrants were congratulated by the Mayor, Cllr Mrs Ann Yates, for having taken part.
The outgoing Miss Alice, Miss Lucia Harris, congratulated Erin on her success and told those present of how much she had enjoyed representing Llandudno and working with the outgoing Mayor, Cllr Mrs Janet Jones. Cllr Mrs Janet Jones thanked Lucia for all her hard work as an excellent ambassador for the town.
The new Miss Alice was presented with her Miss Alice dress, a complimentary hand made costume which she will wear whilst on official engagements.
If you would like Miss Alice to attend one of your events, please contact the Mayor's Secretary, who will be pleased to make the arrangements for you.
The date of the next competition has yet to be decided but will take place in May 2011. All girls aged between 8 and 10 years, who live in Llandudno, Bryn Pydew (Penrhyn Ward), Penrhyn Bay, Llangwstenin or Glanwydden, are eligible to enter. Further details will be available in the spring.
