On Sunday 9th October 2011 officers and airmen from RAF Valley paraded through the town to mark the granting of the Honorary Freedom of the Town on the Royal Air Force Valley by the Town Council. The Freedom was granted in 1995 in recognition of the RAF Valley's service to their Country and a Parade takes place every two years.
Town Councillors, Civic Dignitaries and RAF Valley Executive Officers were present to see the Parade form up outside the Town Hall. The Station Commander, Group Captain Bruce Hedley MBE ADC MA RAF, Mr Trefor Jones Esq CBE, Lord Lieutenant of Clwyd and the Mayor of Llandudno, Cllr Greg Robbins were invited to inspect the Parade before it marched off down Mostyn Street and on to the Promenade. A number of Spectators turned out to watch the Parade and the fly past by a BAE Hawk and a sea King Helicopter.
