Remembrance Sunday

On Sunday 14th November 2021, Remembrance Services were held in both Llandudno and Penrhynside.  Llandudno Town Council was delighted that the Remembrance Services could be held once again following their cancellation due to Covid-19 in 2020, with large numbers attending both services to pay their respects.

Llandudno

The day commenced with a Service at Trinity Church, led by the Revd Andrew Sully and the Mayor’s Chaplain, Revd Beverley Ramsden The Service was followed by a Parade to the War Memorial on the Promenade, led by Llandudno Town Band, the Mayor of Llandudno, Cllr Harry Saville, representatives of the Royal British Legion, Town Councillors, Mr R Millar MP, Mrs J Finch-Saunders, MS, Mr I Lloyd, Vice-chairman Conwy County Borough Council military personnel, veterans, civilian and community organisations.   They were joined at the war memorial by residents and visitors for a reflective and poignant service and wreath laying to remember those who have lost their lives in the service of their country.

Penrhynside

A remembrance and wreath laying service also took place at Penrhynside War Memorial, conducted by The Reverend J Stone. The Service was attended by the Deputy Mayor, Cllr Miss Carol Marubbi, military personnel, Penrhyn ward members, Penrhyn residents and community groups.

Glanwydden

The Mayor, Cllr Harry Saville, the Immediate Past Mayor, Cllr Miss Angela O’Grady and Cllr F Davies, Civic Chairman also attended a Service of Remembrance in Glanwydden organised by the community of Glanwydden on the afternoon of Remembrance Sunday.

Boer War Service

On Saturday 13th November 2021, The Mayor, Cllr Harry Saville attended the Lions Club of Llandudno annual Boer War Memorial Service at St Tudno’s church and cemetery, on the Great Orme.
