This year’s event is scheduled to be held on Sunday 7th November 2021 at 18:20pm from North Shore beach, Llandudno.

Should the weather be adverse on the Sunday, the back-up date is Monday 8th November 2021 at 19:00pm.

Please note that both dates are subject to the weather permitting, and subject to change or cancellation if there is any change to Covid-19 regulations.

This beach event is very tide dependent, with up to 1.5 hours being required in advance of the display to safely set up on the beach (at around 150 metres from the promenade) and a suitable time following the approximate 20-minute display to safely remove equipment from the beach. Tides and operating times are, therefore, carefully, and thoroughly assessed.

In 2021, these are the closest dates to the 5th of November at which the tide time and range is most favourable and safe to operate.

Council would be appreciative:

  • Of any donations on the night towards the display. Collectors will be out and about on the promenade with collecting buckets.
  • If social distancing could please be observed.
  • Please note that fireworks (including sparklers) are not permitted within the event site.

The display in 2021 was attended by an estimated >25,000 people in public viewing areas. It is a spectacular event and attracts visitors both locally and from further afield. However, the size and increasing popularity of the event presents a challenge to the organisers in respect of crowd management, health and safety, and traffic/road management.
The total cost for the 2021 display was £37,894. This included security & marshals, barriers, medical provision, road closure and traffic management, lighting, portaloos, and the display.
Please see 2022 Fireworks page for this year’s event.
