This year’s event is scheduled to be held on Thursday 27th October 2022 at 19:30pm from North Shore beach, Llandudno.
Should the weather be adverse on the Thursday, the back-up date is Friday 28th October 2022 at 19:30pm.
Please note that both dates are subject to the weather permitting.
This beach event is very tide dependent, with up to 1.5 hours being required in advance of the display to safely set up on the beach (at around 150 metres from the promenade) and a suitable time following the approximate 20-minute display to safely remove equipment from the beach. Tides and operating times are, therefore, carefully, and thoroughly assessed.
In 2022, these are the closest dates to the 5th of November at which the tide time and range is most favourable and safe to operate.
Council would be appreciative:
- Of any donations on the night towards the display. Collectors will be out and about on the promenade with collecting buckets
- Please note that fireworks (including sparklers) are not permitted within the event site.

Llandudno Town Council is pleased to announce that the date of the 2022 Fireworks Display will be Thursday 27th October, with a starting time of 19:30. The location will again be Llandudno North Shore beach.
Should adverse weather conditions prevent the display from going ahead on this date, then the display will be held the night after, on Friday 28th October starting at 19:30.
These dates are the only ones that fit in with tidal times and ranges that allow sufficient time to safely set up, hold the display, and then remove all the equipment necessary to fire the display.
The event is of course subject to the weather.
Chair of the Fireworks Sub Committee, Cllr Angie O’Grady “would like to thank Llandudno Pier, for again offering to provide all the machinery and manpower needed to ensure the display is able to be ‘fired’ safely from the beach, and Conwy County Borough Council. This major event couldn’t proceed without their support.
Following on from the huge success of 2021’s fireworks, another stunning display is anticipated”.
The success of this event is fantastic for residents, visitors, the local economy and for Llandudno’s standing as a premier tourist destination. Putting on what many consider to be one of the best fireworks displays in North Wales is, however, not without its challenges. To ensure the continued safe operation of this major event, discussions are ongoing between the Town Council and Conwy CBC.
A road closure will again be in place for the Promenade Road from 12 noon until 9pm. The Council apologises in advance for any disruption this may cause and asks the public to please understand that this road closure is required to ensure they can enjoy another great display in a safe environment.
Please look out for our collectors on the night as donations go towards the cost of the display.
