RAF Valley Freedom Parade
Sunday 9th July from 10.45am
On Sunday 9th July 2023, there will be a parade through Llandudno to mark the granting of the Honorary Freedom of the Town on the Royal Air Force Valley by Llandudno Town Council.
The Freedom was granted in 1995 in recognition of the RAF Valley’s service to their Country and this is the first Parade held for a number of years. The Parade will be led by the Band of the RAF College Cranwell.
The Parade will form up outside Llandudno Town Hall at 10.45 am and is expected to march off at approximately 11.20 following an inspection of the Parade by the Commanding Officer RAF Valley, Group Captain Matt Hoare MA RAF, The Mayor of Llandudno, Cllr Greg J T Robbins and the Lord Lieutenant of Clwyd, Mr H G Fetherstonhaugh OBE DL.
The Parade will also feature a fly past at 11.00 am by two Hawk aircraft. Spectators are welcome to watch the Parade.
The Mayor, Cllr Greg J T Robbins commented, “It is a privilege and a pleasure to welcome the RAF back to Llandudno. Our relationship with RAF Valley has always been strong and this Freedom Parade allows the people of the town to show their appreciation for the work carried out by the RAF, especially in these turbulent times.”
