The Mayor of Llandudno, Cllr Michael A Pearce held his Civic Sunday celebration on Sunday 28th July 2024. The day commenced with a Parade, led by Llandudno Town Band including the Mayor, Councillors, Civic dignitaries, military, civilian and community organisations, to the war memorial for a wreath laying. The Parade then proceeded to St John’s Methodist Church for the Civic Service, presided over by the Reverend. Philip Berry. After the Service, the Parade reformed and returned to the Town Hall, where the Mayor took the salute, before proceeding to the St George’s Hotel for luncheon. As well as Councillors and Civic dignitaries, representatives from a number of voluntary and community organisations within Llandudno also attended the luncheon as a thank you for all the work they undertake throughout the year within the community. The Mayor was particularly delighted to welcome Sir Alan Bates, and his partner Mrs S Sercombe, and to present Sir Alan with a Community Award on behalf of the Town Council, in recognition of his exceptional service to the community of Llandudno and also nationally in tirelessly campaigning to obtain justice for victims of the Post Office scandal. The Mayor also welcomed Mrs G Bailey, Helping Hand for Ukraine and, Mr Andrew Roberts, Tenovus Cancer Community Engagement Officer, North Wales, as his guest speakers.
