Cafodd Maer newydd Llandudno, y Cyng. Greg J T Robbins ei hurddo ar ddydd Gwener, Mai’r 26fed 2023. Cynhaliwyd y seremoni yn yr Ystafell Gyfarfod, Neuadd y Dref Llandudno. Roedd modd i aelodau’r Cyngor Tref fod yn bresennol yn y digwyddiad neu ymuno ar-lein dros Zoom. Fe gafodd y seremoni ei ffrydio’n fyw i’r cyhoedd allu ei gwylio hefyd.

Bu i’r Cyng. Robbins dalu teyrnged i’r Maer blaenorol, y Cyng. Carol Marubbi ac fe estynnodd ddiolch iddo am ei holl waith caled ar ran y Cyngor yn ystod ei flwyddyn Faerol.

Bu i’r cyn-Faer, y Cyng. Marubbi gynnig ei gefnogaeth a dymuno blwyddyn lwyddiannus a llon iddi yn ei swydd. Cafodd Mrs Debbie Robbins ei hurddo fel Maeres yn ogystal.

Mayoral Engagements

The Mayor has a busy diary of engagements which range from Civic occasions in Llandudno and neighbouring towns, to opening shops and other businesses, presenting awards at social and sporting functions, and attending events organised by voluntary and community groups.

Biographical Details

The Mayor’s late father's family are from the area.  His grandfather owned a farm in Llandudno Junction and had relatives running a shop and a cafe in Llandudno until a few years ago.

He has worked as a Contracts Manager for a local construction company and has been involved in the industry since starting work on the Conwy Tunnel in 1987 for Tarmac Construction.  He is married to Debbie with two adult daughters, Kira and Holly, and has two grandchildren, Elysia and Jack.  He is also an animal lover and currently has both a dog and a cat.

He has been a member of Llandudno Town Council since 2008, 15 years ago. He has been the Chairman of the Planning & Transportation Committee for a number of years and is a very active member of various other committees and sub-committees including Town Twinning, Community Services and Finance and General Purposes. 

He also represents the Town Council on the Great Orme Management Advisory Group and has represented the council on the Llandudno and Colwyn Bay Light Tram Society and Llandudno Museum amongst many others. 

He has also been a County Councillor and held the Environment, Roads, and Facilities portfolio on the Executive of Conwy County Borough Council from June 2019 until May 2022. Manging to keep all waste collection services running throughout the pandemic amongst dealing with many other challenges.

In addition, he is the Treasurer of the Llandudno and District Darts League, a Governor at Ysgol Gogarth and is currently in his second period as Chair of Governors at Ysgol Morfa Rhianedd. He is also a past Chairman of the Llandudno Victorian Extravaganza.
